Within every farewell hides a small death. What does it mean, to actually say goodbye? To someone, or to all the big and small things from which we grow in our lifetime? In by the way the performers accompany their visitors on a farewell trip full of movements, sounds, and arts & crafts, to face the great unknown with courage and love, and celebrate the miracle of life together.

by the way was first developed in 2019/2020 before Covid-19. The intended premiere on April 2020 could not take place due to the pandemic, and throughtout 2020/2021 Méir, Lewski and Mouw developed an adapted version of the original piece, one that would fit Covid-19 safety measures. This version was then presented at explore dance festival, Munich, June 2021 // fabrik Potsdam, July 2021 // K3- Hamburg, May 2021.

by the way was developed in the frame of EXPLORE DANCE – NETWORK FOR YOUNG AUDIENCE, a long-term cooperation between fabrik moves Potsdam, Fokus Tanz / Tanz und Schule e.V. Munich and K3 | Tanzplan Hamburg, to develop a sustainable structure for the production of contemporary dance pieces for young audiences.
